Harmony

This shows harmony because all the colours used are from the same colour pallet, making the image look unified. It also looks unified because all the elements relate to one another.

Emphasis

Both show emphasis with the usage of colours. They both have dark background (grass, grayscale water/sky), and then a usage of a bright colour- like the yellow flower and red lighthouse. This creates a focus on that element.

Variety

The first picture shows that variety in shoes; different colours, sizes and shapes. And the second shows variety in the different colours fishes.

Proportion

All of the above images shows the contrast between big and small. The first one shows the difference of size between the big pumpkin bowl and a much smaller version of the same bowl. The second image shows the difference in size between human hands and two porcupine.

Balance

Both images are balanced and symmetrical because the images are evenly distributed on the image.

Rhythm

The first image shows rhythm because it is a repetition or pattern of the same image creating movement. The second image is: in the artists' eyes, the lines of red and yellow are used to create the fast movements of cars on a road.

Shades

Both of the above images show a light source creating a shade. Also, due to the shading in the second one the image looks three dimension.

Texture

Texture is the way things look and feel if they were felt. The first one looks rough while the second looks bumpy because of the holes.

Colour

Both images use colour to create excitement especially the first one. The use of the different colours draws curiosity and intrigues the audience.

Space

Both images use space by creating movements. One looks like you're driving down a road, and the other shows the movement of water.

Shape

Shape is shown in both of these pictures. In the first one is a set of stars creating a festive feeling, and the other shows how different types of shapes can be used in design.

Line

The first image shows line being used to create a fun, bright picture. While, the other one the different types of lines that can be drawn to create different types of emotions.

What I Did This Summer

From July 1st to September 4th, I was in my home country of Guyana. I was born in Guyana and grew up there for seven years. The last time I went back was in 2005. I visited the towns of Berbice, Linden and the capital Georgetown. Also, my cousin got married-- yeah, that was fun too. In addition the month of Ramadan began on August 11th, and since the days are like really loooooooooonnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggggggg in Canada we stayed in Guyana for the much shorter days. For example; in Canada you break your fast at around 8:30pm. In Guyana we break at 6:30pm. Yep! Big difference!!! :) I would have liked to stay for Eid but I would miss school (eye roll). Anyways, I came back on Saturday and now I'm stuck in school again.
